How to Forward an Email in cPanel

Forwarding emails from your domain-based email account is useful if you want to manage all messages in one inbox or process emails using custom scripts. cPanel makes it easy to forward emails either to another email address or to a mail pipe script.

Forward Emails to Another Email Account

If you want to receive your domain emails in Gmail, Yahoo, or any other service, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.

  2. Navigate to Email > Forwarders and click Add Forwarder.

  3. Enter the following details:

    • Address to Forward: Enter the part before the @ of the email you want to forward (e.g., myemail).

    • Domain: Select your domain from the dropdown if you have multiple domains.

    • Destination: Choose Forward to Email Address and type the recipient email address where forwarded emails should arrive.

  4. Click Add Forwarder to save your settings.

From now on, all emails sent to your domain email will also appear in the destination inbox.

Forward Emails to a Mail Pipe Script

For advanced users who want to process incoming emails using scripts:

  1. Go to Email > Forwarders and click Add Forwarder.

  2. Enter the email address and select the domain.

  3. In the Destination section, click Advanced Options, select Pipe to a Program, and provide the full path to your script (e.g., home/username/public_html/myemailpipe.php). Note: Do not add a leading slash in the path.

  4. Click Add Forwarder.

This setup allows incoming emails to be processed automatically by your custom script.
