How to Remove Sample Comments and Posts From WordPress
When you install WordPress for the first time, it automatically includes a few sample items like the “Hello World” post, a sample page, and a sample comment. These placeholders help new users understand how WordPress works, but you should delete them before launching your website so your content looks clean and professional.
Here’s a simple guide to help you remove these default items:
Step 1: Log In to Your WordPress Dashboard
Start by accessing yoursite.com/wp-admin and logging in with your username and password.
Step 2: Delete Sample Posts
From the dashboard, go to Posts > All Posts.
You’ll see the default “Hello World” post. Hover over it and click Trash to remove it.
Step 3: Delete Sample Pages
Next, go to Pages > All Pages.
WordPress usually includes a sample page. Hover over it and click Trash to delete it as well.
Step 4: Delete Sample Comments
Go to Comments from the left menu.
You’ll see a sample comment added to the sample post. Hover your mouse over the comment and choose Trash.
Final Result
Once you remove these sample items, your WordPress site becomes clean, clutter-free, and ready for your actual content. This is a simple but important step in setting up a professional website or blog.
