How to Download a Backup of Your Home Directory, MySQL Database, or Email Only

Sometimes you don’t need a full website backup — you may only want to save your files, your MySQL databases, or your email data. cPanel makes it easy to create and download these partial backups so you can restore or migrate only the parts you need. This is useful for quick safety copies, troubleshooting, or moving specific sections of your site.

Follow the steps below to download individual backups:

1. Log in to your cPanel account.

2. In the Files section, click on Backup Wizard.
   This tool provides a simple, guided interface for backing up or restoring specific parts of your hosting account.

3. Under Backup or Restore, click on Back Up.
   This opens the section where you can choose the type of partial backup you want.

4. Under Select Partial Backup, choose what you want to download.
   You can back up the Home Directory, individual MySQL Databases, or Email Forwarders and Filters.
   For example, to download a Home Directory backup, click on Home Directory.

5. Click on Download.
   Your browser will save the backup file to your computer, ready for storage or restoration whenever needed.
