How to Change the PHP Version for Your Domain in cPanel
Different websites and applications may require specific PHP versions to function correctly. Whether we’re installing a new application, upgrading our website, or troubleshooting compatibility issues, cPanel makes it easy to switch between supported PHP versions.
Using the correct PHP version can improve website performance, security, and compatibility with modern software.
Follow the steps below to change the PHP version for your domain in cPanel.

Step 1: Log in to cPanel
Access your hosting account and log in to your cPanel dashboard.
Step 2: Open SelectPHP Version
In the Software section, click on SelectPHP Version.

This tool allows us to manage PHP versions for individual domains hosted within our account.
Step 3: Select Your Domain
Scroll down to the list of domains associated with your hosting account.
Locate the domain you want to update and select it from the list on the left side of the page.
You can view the currently assigned PHP version in the PHP Version column.
Step 4: Choose a New PHP Version
Using the PHP Version dropdown menu, select the version you want to use for your domain.
For example:
- PHP 8.3
- PHP 8.2
- PHP 8.1
- PHP 8.0

(The available versions may vary depending on your hosting environment.)
Step 5: Apply the Changes
After selecting your preferred PHP version, click Apply.
cPanel will begin updating the PHP configuration for your domain.
